Abandoned Cement Garden Project Update

Posted by deb clarke on March 25, 2016 at 1:00 PM

.This could have been a nightmare left by a fly by night contracting job. Our friends from our local garden club had this cement dropped off at the end of their driveway. Local code enforcement was called and investigations started but the mess was still there. We came to the rescue by picking up five loads of cement debree. The mess is cleaned up and now ready for a great wall to be made.If you use recycled cement, make sure you wear gloves as it is like sandpaper on the hands. You will need a mallet to break pieces up to fit occassionally but otherwise it stacks nicely. If you can, put the smooth edge down to keep it level. Lucy is the supervisor on the job done by our friend Dave "okydoke"! The next step is to fill the wall area with drainage rock, soil, and compost for a gardening delight. We will be putting in edible seedless grapes.
